This role is part of the Engineering department and is focused on improving manufacturing performance through hands‑on analysis and problem solving. You will study cycle times, operator loading, and hand‑offs between operations to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the production process.

Through coaching and real‑world experience, you will gain direct exposure to measuring takt time, applying root‑cause investigation techniques, collecting and interpreting structured data, and developing effective reporting. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, management, and key stakeholders to recommend practical, data‑driven improvements ranging from workflow adjustments to engineered solutions such as equipment or process modifications.  These contributions will drive meaningful and measurable improvements within operations.

Location: Onsite in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The schedule for this role will be Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.

What you will be doing:

  • Conduct accurate time studies across assigned manufacturing cells.
  • Map current production processes and document operator hand‑offs.
  • Calculate takt time and compare it to actual cycle time performance.
  • Identify bottlenecks and imbalances in operator workload using real data.
  • Analyze flow issues and propose prioritized improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with engineers to validate proposed solutions against real‑world constraints.
  • Deliver a final report and presentation summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Networking opportunities with site leadership and functional teams.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, maintenance and EH&S.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Undergraduate student (rising Senior) completing a bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field.
  • Candidate must have an excellent academic record.
  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following the internship.
  • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship (current or future) for employment visa status.
  • Epredia does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, H-1, OPT, and CPT Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience.

Compensation: $25 

 

Start date: The internship is set to begin on 6/1/2026 for a duration of 10-12 weeks
