About the Role

 

Our Legal Department seeks a motivated and conscientious intern with an interest in gaining exposure to the legal and regulatory landscape of the insurance industry and the day-to-day operations of an in-house corporate legal team. The position offers hands-on experience to a wide range of matters involving corporate governance, operational excellence, intellectual property, data protection and privacy, and litigation.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct legal research and analysis as needed into various corporate and legal issues aimed at promoting compliance with applicable laws, industry standards, and company policy.
  • Assist with the drafting and preparation of vendor and marketing contracts.
  • Facilitate organization and maintenance of corporate records and document retention system.
  • Update regulatory compliance guides aimed at fostering adherence to governing regulatory requirements.
  • Review advertisements and marketing materials for compliance with applicable standards.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current enrollment in an accredited Juris Doctorate (JD) program.
  • Must be able to commit to 20 hours per week in office at 581 Main Street, Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.



SALARY RANGE

The pay for this position is $23 to $25 an hour.  Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.​
