About the Role

ABBA Roller is seeking an Intern, Industrial Engineering. This is a student, or a recent graduate undergoing on-the-job supervised training in preparation of a desired career. The individual performs a variety of tasks that provide Industrial Engineering support to different company functional areas.

About ABBA: ABBA Roller specializes in high-performance urethane rollers and custom elastomer solutions for industrial and commercial applications. We support customers across diverse industries with durable, precision-engineered products.


The Summer 2026 internship program will begin June 1st and run approximately 12–16 weeks, with anticipated end dates between August 28th and September 18th depending on availability. Interns will work 20–30 hours per week (minimum 20, maximum 30), Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling.


Job Accountabilities:

  • Create visual work instructions for products in order to standardize build processes and reduce training lead time
  • Perform time studies through direct observation and use data to balance one piece flow production lines, sub-assembly lines, and to find and remove inefficiencies
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness
  • Work with operators to create tool/parts holders to improve shop floor 5s and reduce damage to parts, improve ergonomics, and efficiency
  • Create and maintain Key Performance Indicators for production line
  • Promote Lean concepts throughout the facility
  • Determine, monitor and improve cycle times and implements processes, make sure production lines can meet TAKT times and rebalance, if necessary, find root cause of variability on production lines
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment, adhering to all Company policies and procedures
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the Company’s information and products
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned or requested
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required: preferred 20 hours per week during quarter/semester, fulltime during summer

Job Specifications:
 
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma/GED and at least two years schooling pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
Years’ Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations


Skills:

  • Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in understanding a variety of manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of related software including AutoCAD, Solidworks, and PLM
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
