Position Summary:

As a member of the Software Engineering team, the Autonomy Intern will participate in Brain’s development of intelligent, autonomous navigation systems for use in everyday machines.

This hybrid internship position is located at Brain’s San Diego Headquarters and you will be expected to be onsite Tuesday-Thursday.

Anticipated Project Areas & Learning Opportunities:

  • Machine learning, Visual and Depth Perception
  • Motion Planning
  • Simultaneous Localization & Mapping (SLAM)
  • Algorithm Development
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

We are seeking someone that:

  • Is studying computer science, computer engineering, robotics, or electrical engineering
  • Experience in Python and/or C++ in a Linux Environment
  • Available for 3 months, approximately (June - September 2026) for Internship 
  • Has experience in robotics (through work or school projects/labs)
  • Has enthusiasm for the robotics industry and eagerness to work on new & challenging technologies and projects

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, though the sound level may be elevated at times in the lab. Employee is exposed to the typical office environment with computers, printers and telephones.

Salary Range:

The anticipated hourly rate for candidates who will work in San Diego, California is $35.00-$40.00. The final hourly rate offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Brain Corp is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
