Role Overview: 
Early engagement with prospective customers plays a critical role in shaping how organizations explore and adopt customer experience technology. As a Direct Response Representative Intern at Genesys, you will support how inbound interest is evaluated, prioritized, and nurtured into qualified opportunities, contributing to the effectiveness of early-stage pipeline development. Your work will help ensure prospects receive timely, thoughtful engagement that reflects the Genesys brand.

In this internship, you will gain guided, hands-on exposure to modern sales development practices while building foundational skills in research, data management, and customer engagement. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning how sales and marketing align to drive business outcomes, while developing capabilities that prepare you for future roles in sales or revenue operations. This is a non-quota carrying, learning-focused internship designed to build foundational sales skills. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in managing inbound leads by organizing, reviewing, and supporting timely follow-up activities  

  • Support lead qualification efforts by gathering relevant data and summarizing insights for the team  

  • Conduct guided account and prospect research to identify key contacts and basic opportunity signals  

  • Help maintain accurate CRM records to support visibility into pipeline activity and performance  

  • Assist in preparing outreach templates and messaging for early-stage prospect engagement  

  • Contribute to team projects focused on improving workflows, reporting, and response processes  

  • Observe product demonstrations to build foundational understanding of Genesys solutions and use cases  

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to support campaign follow-up and lead coordination  

Required Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a willingness to learn professional communication standards  

  • Comfortable working with data and digital tools such as CRM systems and spreadsheets  

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks  

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment  

  • Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and develop new skills  

  • Curious, proactive mindset with a strong interest in business and customer engagement  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Interest in pursuing a career in sales, business development, or revenue operations  

  • Exposure to coursework or projects related to marketing, sales, or data analysis  

  • Demonstrated initiative through academic, extracurricular, or personal projects  

  • Interest in technology and customer experience solutions  

  • Goal-oriented mindset with a desire to grow and contribute 

 

Compensation:

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.
