About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Software Engineer Intern to join our Data & ML Infrastructure team for the summer. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers on real-world systems that power our autonomous driving platform — spanning full-stack development, data engineering, and machine learning infrastructure. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute meaningfully to production systems and gain direct exposure to the challenges of building large-scale infrastructure for autonomous vehicles.

What You'll Do

As an intern, you will contribute to one or more of the following areas depending on your background and interests:

Full-Stack Development — Build and improve web-based tools, dashboards, and internal applications that support data monitoring, visualization, and workflow management across our autonomous driving data platform.

Data Infrastructure — Help build and maintain scalable data collection, ingestion, and transformation pipelines that move data from autonomous systems into our data lake and lakehouse. Work with technologies such as Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud-native services in a hybrid-cloud environment.

ML Infrastructure — Contribute to the tooling and pipelines that support model evaluation, training data management, annotation workflows, or experiment tracking — helping accelerate the development and improvement of perception and prediction models.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation date in 2026 or early 2027.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Foundational knowledge in at least one of: web development (React, TypeScript, FastAPI), data systems (SQL, ETL, distributed processing), or machine learning concepts.
  • Familiarity with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.

Highly Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of C++.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with data processing frameworks such as Spark, Airflow, or similar.
  • Exposure to ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) or MLOps tooling (MLflow, W&B).
  • Prior coursework or project experience in distributed systems, data engineering, or machine learning.

Nice to Have:

  • Interest in or exposure to autonomous driving, robotics, or computer vision.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or strong personal/academic project portfolio.
