Summary: Hera Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to support our Soft Goods program. This internship offers hands-on experience working with advanced aerospace textile and flexible material systems used in high-performance environments. The intern will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support development, testing, and production of soft goods components.

This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in aerospace, materials, or mechanical engineering to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support design, development, and prototyping of soft goods components (e.g., thermal blankets, insulation systems, sewn assemblies)
  • Assist in material selection, testing, and evaluation of textiles and flexible materials
  • Work with engineering teams to create and update technical documentation, drawings, and work instructions
  • Participate in product testing, including environmental and mechanical validation
  • Support manufacturing builds, including hands-on assembly and process observation
  • Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain organized records of test data, reports, and design changes


Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, Textile Engineering, or related field
  • Rising junior or senior (or graduate student) preferred
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work onsite in Ontario, CA for the duration of the internship 


Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest or coursework in textiles, composites, or flexible material systems
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Hands-on project experience (school, lab, or internship)
  • Familiarity with sewing, fabrication, or prototype development is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Program Details:

  • Schedule: Part-time approx 24-30 hours per week 
  • Hourly Pay Range: $19/HR to $22/HR depending on experience
  • Location: Onsite in Ontario, CA


Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Total compensation will also include a comprehensive set of benefits including but not limited to: Company paid employee medical, dental and vision insurance. Retirement plan participation (eligibility required), paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.
