Merseyside Police was formed in 1974 and serves a population of around 1.5 million people, covering an area of 647 square kilometres. Student Placement Opportunity – Corporate Assets Dept (Estates)

Location: Rose Hill HQ – Liverpool.
Contract: 12‑month Student Placement
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Grade B £25,599

About the Opportunity

We are offering an exciting paid placement for a motivated and enthusiastic student to join our Corporate Assets Dept for a 12‑month industry placement. This role is ideal for students who want to gain hands‑on experience, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop professional skills within a supportive environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Student Placement within Corporate Assets, you will support the team with a range of tasks, which may include: 

  • Assessment of works completed by the contractor, ensuring correct application of pre-approved costs
  • Quality Assurance of submitted paperwork and reports from the contractor, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements
  • Monitor performance of the contractor through use of set Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Assist with management of the department’s facilities helpdesk, resolving building maintenance issues

Your work will contribute directly to the department’s objectives and provide valuable real‑world experience.

    Quantity Surveying
