About the Role

Overview 

AmeriWater is a long-established industry leader in the design, manufacture, installation and supply of water purification systems and services for dialysis, industrial and healthcare applications. We are looking for two Manufacturing Engineer Co-ops!

Temporary Duration: May 2026 through September 2026

Location: Onsite - Dayton, Ohio 45414

Schedule: M-F 7:00a to 4:00p (flexibility if needed)

Position Summary

Provides hands-on experience in a production environment and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to process optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in conducting time studies, supporting process improvements, developing standard work documentation, optimizing work area layouts, and contributing to technical documentation efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with conducting time studies and analyzing production data to improve efficiency and labor utilization.
  • Support process improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Help develop, document, and maintain standard work instructions.
  • Assist in designing and improving work cell layouts to optimize flow, ergonomics, and productivity.
  • Create and update technical documentation, work instructions, and process specifications.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and present data to engineering and operations teams.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
