About the Role

SpecterOps is a cybersecurity solutions and services provider specializing in deep knowledge of adversary tradecraft to help clients detect and defend against sophisticated attackers. We are seeking motivated and curious students or recent graduates to join us for a summer internship. If you have a passion for learning and an interest in accounting within a fast‑growing technology company, we want to hear from you! 

Internships at SpecterOps aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. You will partner closely with experienced professionals and be exposed to innovative solutions, research, and tools that will further enhance your knowledge and prepare you to add value as an early career professional. 

This year, the summer internship program will run for 11 weeks, beginning June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026. Successful candidates must be able to commit for the entire length remotely with in the United States. 

We are inviting an Accounting Intern to join our Finance team, where you will support day‑to‑day accounting operations and gain hands‑on experience with core financial processes in a high‑growth cybersecurity company.You will work collaboratively with accounting and finance professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain exposure to how accounting functions support strategic business decisions.  This role is ideal for students interested in pursuing a career in accounting, finance, or corporate operations. 

 

Salary Range: $25.00 hourly 

Location: This position is remote, based in the U.S.   

  • Candidate must be authorized to work and reside in the United States; we do not currently sponsor immigration visas.   

What you’ll be doing:   

  • Collaborate on process improvement initiatives and create documentation of accounting workflows.
  • Assist daytoday accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger support.
  • Review and organize financial documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Work on monthend and quarterend close processes. 
  • Gain hands-on experience with preparing and reconciling financial reports and schedules.
  • Engage in knowledge sharing sessions and actively seek opportunities for professional growth and development within the finance and accounting functions 
  • Gain exposure to how accounting and finance support a cybersecurity services organization, including revenue recognition and cost tracking.  

Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Ability to commit to a 11-week internship (20-30 hours weekly)  
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Completed or actively enrolled in introductory accounting coursework (e.g., Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting)
  • Basicproficiency in Microsoft Excel

Nice to haves   

  • Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems
  • Experience working with financial data, reconciliations, or reporting
  • Basic knowledge of GAAP concepts
  • Previousexposure of collaborating with remote teams 
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Interest in technology, SaaS, or professional services industries
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning new tools and processes.
