Position Overview

Dutch Bros is seeking a motivated summer Law Clerk to join our Legal Department. This role provides hands-on experience in corporate law, including commercial contracts, real estate transactions, intellectual property, and employment law. You will work closely with attorneys and paralegals to provide research, analysis, and transactional support for a fast-growing brand.

Key Result Areas

Assist the Dutch Bros Legal Department by conducting research, completing transactions, organizing and auditing records, and other projects as needed:

  • Legal Research & Writing: Conduct exhaustive research on diverse legal topics and draft concise memos or presentations for executive review.
  • Transactional Support: Review and prepare draft documents, including commercial contracts, real estate leases, and agency applications.
  • Project Management: Coordinate projects involving multiple departments and stakeholders while maintaining organized records and data.
  • Quality Assurance: Edit and critique written work within the department to ensure high-quality guidance for business units.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with file maintenance, data entry, and record auditing to ensure legal systems are accurate and up-to-date.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled and in good standing at an ABA-approved law school.
  • Coursework: Completion of Contracts and at least one other relevant course (e.g., Property, Real Estate Transactions, Employment Law, or Intellectual Property).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs; strong legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Soft Skills: Highly organized, adaptable, and able to communicate persuasively in both written and verbal forms.
  • Logistics: Must have reliable transportation to the Tempe, AZ office and a passion for protecting the Dutch Bros culture.

  • Ability to read and write in English in order to process paperwork and follow up on any actions necessary
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculators, copy machines, computers, and office equipment
