About the Role

The Company

Join Halo Industries and be part of a company that's transforming the semiconductor industry with our innovative laser technology. Founded in 2014 and supported by significant funding as of 2024, we're focused on creating efficient solutions that dramatically reduce waste and improve material performance across various sectors such as automotive, telecommunications, and power electronics.

The Opportunity

In a high-tech Silicon Carbide (SiC) fab, the difference between a high-yield run and a costly delay is often down to having the right tool at the right time. We are looking for a high-energy intern to revolutionize how we manage our critical durables and high-turnover Consumables. You will move us from manual "find it when you need it" hunting to a streamlined, digital tracking system that ensures every cassette, carrier, and chemical is clean, tracked, and ready for the line.

Responsibilities
  • Digital Infrastructure: Design, source, and implement a robust barcode/RFID tracking system for all cassettes, carriers, and consumable to provide real-time visibility across the fab floor.
  • Consumables Lifecycle Management: Develop a tracking workflow for high-turnover items (carriers, filters, polishing pads, chemicals) to prevent stock-outs and ensure appropriate rotation (FIFO, FEFO, LIFO, or cost).
  • Workflow Mapping: Define the full lifecycle of a durable asset—from the moment it is received and released to the floor, through the Cassette Cleaning Process, to its return to the "Ready for Use" rack.
  • Process Validation & Enforcement: Establish digital "hard gates" in the MES workflow to ensure no contaminated carrier reaches a high-purity process step. You’ll validate that cleaning frequencies are being met and recorded and the system prevents durables from being used in areas they are not approved.
  • Asset Utilization Analysis: Identify how many durables we need versus how many we have, reducing unnecessary capital spend while supporting a volume ramp.
  • Standardized Procedures: Draft and refine the Operation Method Sheets (OMS) for the logistics and cleaning teams, ensuring best practices are standardized.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Systems Engineering, or related degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands On Mentality: You are a presence on the floor. You love the "detective work" of tracking down inefficiencies and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves in a cleanroom environment.
  • Knowledge Champion: You have a passion for learning complex logistics and creating systems to simplify adherence. You take pride in making the production team's job easier and more organized.
  • The "Optimizer": Proficiency in organizing workflow mapping, process validation and enforcement. You have a natural drive for organization, flow, and "a place for everything."

Salary Range : 20 - 25 USD per hour.
