About the Role

SLB is seeking a motivated, curious, and hands‑on undergraduate student to join our Nisku team as a Maintenance Operations Intern – Production Testing. This internship offers a strong practical learning experience, exposing you to real field‑ready equipment, hands‑on maintenance activities, and the operational side of SLB’s production testing technologies. You will work closely with experienced technicians and engineers, gaining insight into how critical measurement equipment is maintained, tested, and prepared for reliable performance. We are looking for someone proactive, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced technical environment. If you enjoy working with equipment, solving practical problems, and gaining real‑world exposure to SLB’s production testing operations, this internship will be an excellent foundation for your career.

 Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the Maintenance Engineering team with daily tasks such as failure analysis, equipment assessments, troubleshooting, and basic documentation.
  • Participate in hands‑on shop activities as needed, including inspections, testing, or evaluation of mechanical components.
  • Support the development and implementation of standardized maintenance processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and equipment reliability.
  • Work closely with maintenance engineers, planners, and sourcing teams to support ongoing operations.
  • Collaborate with local technical experts and broader organizational teams as required.
  • Gain hands-on training and mentorship from experienced maintenance engineers.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s (second year or higher) student in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, as well as strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to deliver tasks on time with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse groups.
  • Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada without company sponsorship.
