About the role

We're seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern to help prototype and productize the next generation of human-computer interfaces. This role offers hands-on experience across front-end, back-end, and dev tools, with a focus on building polished user-facing applications and supporting internal research workflows. You’ll work directly with a tight-knit, high-caliber team of engineers, designers, and researchers to bring new interaction paradigms to life. We are an early-stage, stealth tech startup based in San Francisco, developing innovative hardware that rethinks human-computer interaction. While we can’t reveal too much just yet, our team is tackling cutting-edge engineering challenges to bring revolutionary products to life.

What you'll do

• Build applications for web, mobile, and embedded clients that interact with our hardware.

• Develop backend services for real-time interaction and data streaming.

• Create internal tools for data labeling, visualization, and debugging.

• Rapidly prototype new user experiences for novel input methods.

• Work closely with full-time engineers to ship stable, high-performance software.

• Document and clearly present engineering findings and design decisions.

Strong candidates may have

• Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, Linux, command-line development

• Independent work ethic, flexibility, and resourcefulness.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

• Comfortable in fast moving startup environment, excited to build independently

Compensation range

Hourly determined based on your specific skills and experience
