About The Company
In the dim red light of the darkroom, we embarked on a journey that would take us to the furthest corners of photography. While many contemporaries chased a vision of the human form that was highly sexualized, we envisioned a style that amplified the natural language of the body and provided a transformative experience to its subjects. In an act of defiance, we confidently rejected the status quo surrounding nude photography and irrevocably carved out space for a style denoted by a kind of finesse, discretion and elegance never before seen - a concept we dubbed Nuovo.
About the Role

Nuovo Artistic Studios is the premier destination for all things self-love. A by-women company and one of the largest artistic photography companies in North America, Nuovo is on a mission to empower individuals by fostering confidence and self-expression while celebrating intimacy and individuality.

We’re looking for a Research & Development Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate engineer who is excited to learn about mechanical design, prototyping, and robotics in a creative, fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with our R&D team to help bring innovative hardware concepts to life from camera mechanisms to interactive systems.

This Internship will take place from May 4th, 2026 to August 28th, 2026

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in designing components, simple mechanisms and housings using CAD software
  • Help build and assemble prototypes using shop tools, 3D printers, and basic machining processes
  • Contribute to the design of moving parts such as hinges, mounts, and adjustable fixtures
  • Assist with integrating motors, sensors, and microcontrollers into mechanical systems
  • Participate in building, testing and “breaking” prototypes to find the most elegant mechanical solutions
About You:
  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Engineering with a focus in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, or a related field
  • Familiarity with electronics fundamentals
  • Basic experience with CAD tools
  • Exposure to prototyping methods
  • Experience with robotics projects (academic or personal)
  • Exposure to CNC machining or workshop tools are an asset
  • Curiosity, critical thinking and eagerness to learn new tools and techniques
  • Active listening, strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
