Summit Pacific is a vibrant and expanding public hospital district that operates a Critical Access Hospital with 24-hour emergency services and a ten-bed inpatient unit supported by hospitalists. Stopping at Summit Pacific for stabilization has been instrumental in saving the lives of heart attack and stroke victims and those with traumatic injuries. Along with our emergency services we offer seven-day-a-week urgent care, two primary care clinics, full service laboratory and diagnostic imaging services, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation program, physical, occupational and speech therapy, a medication assisted treatment clinic, infusion therapy and more. We are supported by dynamic leadership, a solid electronic medical records system and a great staff. Internship Duration:

The internship length will be determined according to the intern's academic schedule and department needs. Flexibility may be provided to align with the intern’s school term.

Job Summary

This internship provides students with hands-on learning experiences within a professional work environment, tailored to their area of academic focus. The intern will be under the supervision of a full-time staff member, contributing to various departmental projects and tasks that align with their educational goals. This role offers an opportunity to gain relevant work experience, develop new skills, and receive mentorship for future career development. Interns will engage in day-to-day operations, perform specific duties assigned by the department, and actively seek feedback for continuous professional growth.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Detailed responsibilities will be outlined by the hosting department.
  • Support Departmental Tasks: Assist with tasks and projects specific to the department's current needs, which may include administrative, operational, or technical work, depending on the area of focus.
  • Assist in Team Projects: Collaborate with team members to contribute to ongoing projects, providing support where needed and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Handle Special Projects: Undertake any special assignments or projects that may arise, contributing ideas and executing tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Adhere to Work Protocols: Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and reliability while following company policies, procedures, and safety protocols as applicable to the department.
  • Actively engage in learning and contribute positively to the work environment.
  • Provide Feedback on Internship Experience: Contribute thoughts and feedback on the internship experience for future improvements or insights into the program.
