Position: Community Residential Summer Internship Program: Reports to Vice President of Associate Development:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Columbia Residential Internship is a structured eight-week development initiative designed to expose emerging professionals to the multifamily real estate business while completing a concentrated, high- impact project within a primary area of interest. The program is centrally governed by Learning & Development to ensure consistency, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
- Talent pipeline development.
- Brand reputation.
- Early career engagement.
- The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about learning and have a sincere interest in real estate development, property management, asset management, finance, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and within teams on special projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel a plus.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must handle confidential and non-routine information with sensitivity.
PROGRAM DESIGN OVERVIEW:
Duration: 8 Weeks (June 1- July 24)
Governance: Learning & Development
Model: Concentrated Project + Organizational Leader Exposure
Each intern:
- Is assigned to one primary business unit.
- Completes one defined project with measurable outcomes.
- Participates in weekly L & D check-ins.
- Attends Leader Lunch sessions for organizational- wide exposure.
- Completes a final case study and presentation.

- Selected candidates will participate in a panel interview.
- The deadline for applying is Friday, April 13, 2026.
- Selected candidates will be subject to a background check and drug screening
- The program will run from Monday, June 1, 2026, through Friday, July 24, 2026.
