Role Overview

The RTW ADF Summer Intern will work closely with the NewCo-Corporate Development team at RTW to research, plan, and implement firm strategic initiatives as well as contribute to New Ventures workstreams.

This role will support high-priority, high-impact projects. In partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, this individual will drive company operations and forward-thinking organizational goals. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, capability to do secondary research, be deeply collaborative, an outstanding communicator, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

This position is full-time and reports to an Associate on the ADF team.

 

Key Responsibilities

This person will play an integral role in company building, business development, alliance management, corporate strategy, and financing efforts to help grow and scale RTW new ventures. In addition, the person will participate in firmwide strategic initiatives outside of the scope of New Ventures. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to RTW’s portfolio companies in managing partnerships, sourcing vendors, and assisting with business development initiatives
  • Support the growth and development of teams across portfolio companies
  • Support portfolio company’s leadership and RTW experts in developing and executing project plans, maintaining detailed operational trackers, and coordinating with external partners to advance licensed drug development programs
  • Contribute to various projects related to company building, financial and scientific analysis, project management, and other ad hoc initiatives as needed

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Advanced degree (includes MS, MA, MBA, PhD or MD) in biomedical sciences or related field from a top tier university
  • Prior investment banking, consulting life science investing, or industry experience is preferred
  • Team player that can work with cross-functional teams with a strong sense of integrity
  • Skilled at assembling, integrating, and interpreting raw data and research
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Strong at written, verbal, and presentation-based communications
  • Strong willingness to learn
  • Must be able to work from our New York City office, 5 days /week
