About the Role

Job Title: Accounting Intern 

Department: Finance & Accounting 

Reports to: Controller 

Effective Date:  Summer 2026 

Location: Hybrid-Houston, TX 

Travel: 0% 

POSITION PURPOSE:    

This is a temporary, non-exempt position that will be reporting to the Controller. This position is responsible for supporting KCE’s Controller and AP Manager with day-to-day financial operations. This internship provides hands-on experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls while offering exposure to real-world business processes. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable  

  • Support month-end close activities 

  • Reviewing, coding and processing vendor invoices 

  • Reconciles account ledgers by verifying and posting financial transactions 

  • Maintain accounting schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation 

  • Perform other accounting and administrative tasks assigned 

  • All other duties as required 

WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:  

       • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 

       • High degree of attention to detail. 

       • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. 

       • Strong organizational and time-management skills. 

       • Strong knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office. 

       • Ability to work in a small team 
 

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods of working on a computer 
  • ​​​​​​​Attendance in Houston office at least two days a week
