In a Sentence:

The Seasonal Summer Intern develops Christian character and ministry skills to serve the church by leading the Next Generation to live in the way of Jesus with the heart of Jesus.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and grow in Christian character by being consistent and accountable to the ministry pastor or director in pursuing spiritual foundations, practicing spiritual disciplines, and being discipled.
  • Proclaim the good news to unbelievers by establishing relationships with students, children, and/or parents.
  • To be involved in discipleship relationships with students that challenge them to live in the way of Jesus (studying the scriptures, holding each other accountable, and praying) with the heart of Jesus (developing their character and encouraging age-appropriate spiritual disciplines).
  • Involved in various activities, such as Bible lesson preparation and delivery, camp counselor, worship leading, poster making, data entry, phone calls, outreach to children/ students and parents, taking sign-ups and check-ins for events, chaperoning at summer events, vehicle and room clean up, shopping for food and event supplies, food preparation, announcements, skits, videoing and editing, social media posts, event planning, etc.
  • Be trained in ministry related to a specific life stage (Examples: Children, Jr. High, High School, or College).

Organizational Relationships: 

  • This position interacts with the church staff, volunteers, congregation, and outside vendors. This position shall be under the administrative supervision of the ministry pastor or director, keeping him or her informed of the progress in the ministry, special needs, and personal growth.

Other: 

  • Attend seminars and/or conferences as directed that will be of benefit in fulfilling ministry responsibilities.
  • Be evaluated by the ministry pastor or director.
  • This position requires weekend and evening hours. See job offer for specific hours.
  • Since intern positions are temporary, training positions, interns are considered temporary employees and as such are not eligible for benefits..


Requirements

Time Commitment: 32+ hours/week, plus or including:

  • Camps
  • Weekly events to help reach and grow students.
  • Weekly participation in EFCC staff meetings.
  • Participation in the life of the body through worship gatherings, etc.
  • Compensation: MInimum Wage

Qualifications: (Examples)

  • Christ-centered behavior, i.e., treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity at all times. Be committed to and demonstrate spiritual maturity.
  • Concurs with our Statement of Faith and, if not a member, completes the requirements for church membership and joins within a one-year period.
  • Willing to be actively involved in the appropriate ministries of the church and attends worship services on a regular basis.
  • Have genuine concern for others and the ability to relate well with people.
  • Be teachable and faithful to carry out responsibilities.
  • Have the ability and willingness to be involved in evangelism and discipleship.
  • Has the ability to work with a team in accomplishing ministry goals.
  • Possess a Safe driving record

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Sitting and standing: The ability to remain in a stationary position for a majority of the workday is a common requirement. Occasional standing and walking to move around the office is also standard.

Fine motor skills: Many office jobs require the use of hands for fine manipulation, such as typing on a keyboard, handling small objects, or using a computer mouse.

Vision: Good close-up vision is necessary for activities like reading documents, reviewing data, and using a computer screen for extended periods.

Hearing and speech: The ability to communicate clearly and listen to information, both in person and over the phone, is essential.

Lifting and carrying: While heavy lifting is rare, some positions may require occasionally lifting, carrying, or moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Other movements: Tasks like reaching, bending, and stooping to access files or other objects may be required occasionally.
