POSITION SUMMARY – This position is based in Singapore

The Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) Carbon Markets Intern will play a meaningful role in supporting Conservation International’s efforts to accelerate high‑integrity nature‑based climate action across the Asia Pacific region. Working closely with the Director of Regulated Markets and the Asia Pacific Carbon Team, the intern will contribute to research, analysis, and knowledge management that guide CI’s work in advancing the development, integrity, and financing of NCS carbon projects.

This 3–6 month internship offers an exceptional learning opportunity for students passionate about climate solutions and the future of carbon markets. Interns will gain firsthand exposure to real‑world carbon project development, including voluntary and regulated carbon markets, jurisdictional REDD+ (J‑REDD+), Article 6 mechanisms, and Singapore’s growing role as a global carbon hub. Beyond research and analysis, the intern will engage with interdisciplinary experts across carbon finance, climate policy, geospatial science, and field implementation, providing a holistic understanding of how NCS projects are developed, financed, and governed.

Interns will also have the chance to interact with Singapore’s carbon services and trading ecosystem, gaining insights into emerging market trends and professional pathways in the rapidly growing climate and sustainability sector. One or more opportunities for funded travel to CI field sites may be available depending on team needs and resources, offering direct exposure to on‑the‑ground conservation and community engagement.
