Distribution Center Intern

On-the-Floor Exposure

  • Receiving (inbound shipments, putaway)
  • Picking (batch, zone, or wave picking depending on your setup)
  • Packing & shipping
  • Returns processing (if applicable)

System Learning (SAP)

  • How orders flow through SAP
  • Inventory tracking & adjustments
  • Basic transactions (viewing orders, stock levels, etc.)

Skills You Will Build (Highly Valuable)

Hard Skills

  • ERP systems: SAP ERP vs NetSuite
  • Warehouse operations metrics (pick rate, fill rate, accuracy)
  • Excel / data analysis
  • Process mapping

Real-World Experience

  • System migration exposure (huge résumé value)
  • Change management in operations
