Purpose: The Main Campus Special Experience and Events Logistics Coordinator plans and manages aspects of The Global Leadership Summit on the South Barrington campus, helping create a world-class learning environment for our guests by supporting the coordination of details including working on special experiences, managing seating and signage for the Main Auditorium, working with the team backstage for unique needs. This role supports the Event Manager of Summit Experience. Required dates of work include June 1st through the week of the GLS, August 3rd – 7th, 2026.
Global Leadership Network (GLN) is a nonprofit organization located in South Barrington, Illinois. We exist to help churches build a leadership culture – so more and more people come to know Jesus Christ. We do this by developing resources to help churches grow healthy leaders – because healthy leaders build healthy, thriving churches.
Our flagship event is The Global Leadership Summit is attended by 60,000+ leaders in 400 sites (primarily churches) throughout the United States. The Summit is translated into 50+ languages and held in over 800 sites in 110 countries reaching over 240,000 international leaders from September to April.
Work Schedule: This role will primarily work in the office Monday through Friday with the opportunity to move into a hybrid remote schedule. Regular office hours are 8:30am-5:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Job Status: Seasonal Internship (June 1 – August 14), Full-Time 40 hrs./week, Hourly Pay (Non-Exempt from Overtime)
Position Team: Summit Experience
Reports to: Event Manager
Pay rate for this seasonal internship of 40 hours per week position is $16/hr.
Benefits include paid time off in accordance with the Illinois PLAWA (Paid Leave for All Workers Act). Time off may be subject to black-out dates during GLS peak season and subject to manager approval.
Position Requirements: Applicant must be ready to work in a fast-passed environment and is able to be calm under pressure. Flexibility to add or adjust projects as needed to plan the event. Required dates of work include Volunteer Training on a Saturday and the week of the GLS, August 3rd – 8th, 2026. There is some flexibility for other dates during the summer. Some evenings for event set up and volunteer meetings will be required to attend with flex time those weeks. This position does not offer relocation assistance or housing accommodations for the duration of the internship.
Primary Responsibilities:
Attend and support event related meetings and perform follow-up tasks as assigned
Manage lunchroom allocations
Inventory and order supplies for use during the event
Assist in communication with vendors especially related to the unique breakfast/lunch experiences
Coordinate and work together as needed with other Interns
Support Event Manager with additional tasks related to guest experience
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Actively participate in one-on-one meetings with manager, team meetings, all-staff meetings, and cross-functional meetings, as needed.
Oversee VIP and Special Experiences volunteers to create a unique and elevated experience for those attending Executive Track and President’s Circle.
Work with other Events Coordinators to coordinate venue set up and floor plans
Source and purchase gifts and give aways for special experience guests
Design and implement check in, registration and VIP parking process for special experience guests

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
Fluency in Microsoft Office products
Completed high school and one year of college (preferred)
A vital relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and an active participant of a local church that holds to a historic, orthodox understanding of biblical Christianity
