Purpose: The Main Campus Event and Volunteer Coordinator supports the volunteers with role organization, communication, and coordinating volunteer events. This role is responsible for managing large amounts of volunteer data and communication of the data. This role is also responsible for several event logistics needs outside of volunteer coordination such as, ordering of lunches, working with vendors, support material needs for GLN staff and volunteer leaders and supporting the Event Manager of Summit Experience. Required dates of work include June 1st through the week of the GLS, August 3rd – 7th, 2026.
Global Leadership Network (GLN) is a nonprofit organization located in South Barrington, Illinois. We exist to help churches build a leadership culture – so more and more people come to know Jesus Christ. We do this by developing resources to help churches grow healthy leaders – because healthy leaders build healthy, thriving churches.
Our flagship event is The Global Leadership Summit is attended by 60,000+ leaders in 400 sites (primarily churches) throughout the United States. The Summit is translated into 50+ languages and held in over 800 sites in 110 countries reaching over 240,000 international leaders from September to April.
Work Schedule: This role will primarily work in the office Monday through Friday with the opportunity to move into a hybrid remote schedule. Regular office hours are 8:30am-5:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Job Status: Seasonal Internship (June 1 – August 14), Full-Time 40 hrs./week, Hourly Pay (Non-Exempt from Overtime)
Position Team: Summit Experience
Reports to: Event Manager
Pay rate for this seasonal internship of 40 hours per week position is $16/hr.
Benefits include paid time off in accordance with the Illinois PLAWA (Paid Leave for All Workers Act). Time off may be subject to black-out dates during GLS peak season and subject to manager approval.
Position Requirements: Applicant must be ready to work in a fast-passed environment and is able to be calm under pressure. Flexibility to add or adjust projects as needed to plan the event. Required dates of work include Volunteer Training on a Saturday and the week of the GLS, August 3rd – 8th, 2026. Some evenings for event set up, volunteer meetings will be required to attend with flex times those weeks. This position does not offer relocation assistance or housing accommodations for the duration of the internship.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage volunteer data and reporting and share data with volunteer high-capacity leaders
Maintain primary communication with volunteer leaders and volunteers
Track volunteer sign-ups
Order t-shirts and organize distribution to volunteers
Prepare volunteer name badges for distribution
Coordinate and lead volunteer leader meetings, volunteer trainings and celebrations
Support Event Manager with additional tasks related to guest experience
Coordinate and work together as needed with other interns
Perform other duties as assigned
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Actively participate in one-on-one meetings with manager, team meetings, all-staff meetings, and cross-functional meetings, as needed.
Attend and support event related meetings and perform follow up tasks
Work with other Events Coordinators to coordinate venue set up and floor plans
Design and implement check in and registration process
Coordinate Information Booth training and support
QualificationsSkills and Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding the importance of volunteers
Ability to multi-task
High attention to detail
Ability to work with vendors
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
Fluency in Microsoft Office products
Completed high school and one year of college (preferred)
A vital relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and an active participant of a local church that holds to a historic, orthodox understanding of biblical Christianity
