Marketing and Events Intern

Barkley Financial Center - Dahlia Building 

Bellingham, WA

Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and some Saturdays 

Summer Internship runs May – September| 12-13 hours per week


A Day in Your Life at Peoples Bank:

Every year, Peoples Bank sponsors more than 100 events in the communities we serve. These events range from large-scale festivals like Ski to Sea and Berry Dairy Days, golf tournaments for area non-profits, 200-person gala fundraisers, and smaller events at one of our 23 branches. The Peoples Bank Marketing Department is looking for an intern to assist with those efforts for summer 2026.

At the direction of the Peoples Bank Assistant Marketing Manager and Director for Marketing, this temporary internship position will support the bank’s presence at community events between May and September 2026. This may include coordinating on-site presence for staff volunteers, organizing and ordering equipment and swag items, designing marketing materials, and posting marketing campaigns on Peoples Bank’s digital channels such as the website and social media.


Your Primary Responsibilities Would Include:

  • Researching and ordering branded swag items to be distributed at events.
  • Mailing or delivering event equipment to Peoples Bank branch network as applicable (all relevant mileage expenses covered).
  • Coordinating and communicating with employees who are working sponsored events.
  • Attending, setting up, and/or working select sponsored events, representing the Peoples Bank brand (occasional Saturday events).
  • Supporting graphic design, photography, videography, social media, communication, and other marketing projects for the department as needed. 

Requirements

What You Bring to the Team:

  • You are currently enrolled at a community college or university.
  • You are currently studying marketing, communications, business, graphic design, or other relevant programs required.
  • You have 1 or more years of customer service experience.
  • You have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • You have strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • You have the ability to work independently with attention to detail in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • You are professional and have a high regard for confidentiality.
  • You are proficient in Windows Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • You have strong business communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills including professional etiquette and service mentality.
  • You must be able to travel to other Peoples Bank locations and off-site for meetings as required.
  • You must be able to model the Peoples Bank Mission, Vision and Values.
