Rubbercraft is seeking a Materials (Rubber) Laboratory Intern who is a student, or a recent graduate undergoing on-the-job supervised training in preparation of a desired career. This internship provides hands-on experience in material science, quality control, and product development, with exposure to industry-standard testing equipment, regulatory requirements, and lab practices.
The Summer 2026 internship program will begin June 1st and run approximately 12–16 weeks, with anticipated end dates between August 28th and September 18th depending on availability. Interns will work 20–30 hours per week (minimum 20, maximum 30), Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling.

Job Core Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation and testing of rubber samples following established procedures and ASTM/ISO standards.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment
- Provides support to an assigned functional area
- Perform data entry and basic statistical analysis.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineers, chemists, and technicians to troubleshoot material performance issues.
- Learn and support compliance testing related to REACH, RoHS, TSCA, PFAS, Proposition 65, etc. requirements, including sample tracking and data collection.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
Years Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize changing situations
- Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completion
- Basic understanding of polymers, elastomers, or rubber materials is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
