The Quality Intern works in close coordination with the Area Quality Engineers to identify and capitalize on opportunities that have improvement potential both plantwide and within specific areas to improve finished product quality and first-time yield, with emphasis on prevention of Quality issues. 

This position reports to the Sr. Quality and Ballistics and Quality Manger and is based out of our Lonoke, AR office.  

What you’ll do:

  • Be able to learn and understand the manufacturing processes of ammunition and how quality pertains to ammunition manufacturing.

  • Perform machine/process capability studies to determine the validity of process parameters and identify areas or potential improvements, to include implementing improvements under the guidance of an Area Quality Engineer.

  • Develop and improve Quality Inspection Documents so that quality inspections are clearly defined to the production areas.

  • Be able to learn ISO 9001:2015 requirements and assist as an ISO Internal Quality Auditor in at least three quality audits within the manufacturing plant.

  • Develop, review, and improve gage systems to maximize the inspection effectiveness to improve inspection efficiency and reduce operator measurement error.

  • Learn the ballistic testing of ammunition and ammunition components in how it pertains to the manufacturing of ammunition to determine if the ammunition is conforming to specific requirements. 

Experience you bring:

  • Three years of college, or within one year of graduating with a bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or mathematics/statistics discipline. 

  • 0-2 Years of experience with solving problems using data and analysis 

You might have:  

  • Strong mechanical skills 

  • Knowledge in statistical analysis in being able to apply to manufacturing processes. 

Additional Information: 

  • Shift: Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm 

  • Summer Internship: May-August

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range:

Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $35.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
