About the Role

Description

The student intern will be based in Columbia and will contribute to the development of an advanced AI-powered training platform for manufacturing environments. This role focuses on integrating large language models, computer vision, and statistical analysis into a unified, intelligent guidance system for trainees.

The intern will design, build, and refine the solution on Vuzix Blade 2 smart glasses, enabling hands-free, real-time instructional support during manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include combining multiple software tools and technologies into a cohesive system aimed at improving workforce training, enhancing process accuracy, and increasing operational efficiency.

The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement an innovative training ecosystem that bridges artificial intelligence, wearable technology, and industrial workflows.


Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. 
  • Proficiency in coding with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C++. 
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and algorithms. 
  • Knowledge of software development tools, such as Git for version control. 
  • Familiarity with AI/machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras). 
  • Experience working with APIs and cloud-based services for AI integration. 
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis and data processing libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas). 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for applying coding to real-world applications. 
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code. 
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
