At PwC Malaysia, the role of an intern in the Tax Compliance Services Group typically includes the following responsibilities:
- Preparation of Tax Returns: Interns assist in preparing tax returns for individuals, corporations, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Malaysian tax laws.
- Reviewing Tax Documents: They help review tax documentation and filings to ensure that all necessary information is included and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Research: Conducting research on local tax regulations, updates, and policies to ensure informed compliance and to support tax planning.
- Data Analysis: Analyzing financial data to assist in identifying tax implications and opportunities for optimization.
- Administrative Support: Performing administrative duties such as organizing and maintaining tax files, documentation, and correspondence.
- Assisting with Audits: Supporting the team during tax audits by preparing necessary documentation and information.
- Client Support: Helping prepare materials for client meetings and responding to client inquiries under supervision.
- Team Collaboration: Working with other team members to ensure accurate and timely tax filings, and participating in meetings and discussions.
- Learning Opportunities: Engaging in training sessions and workshops to build knowledge in tax practices and develop professional skills.
Interns are expected to have strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward learning and development. The role aims to provide practical experience and prepare interns for future careers in tax advisory and compliance.
