About the Role

Job Summary

The Leasing team is an important part of the Centre Management Office and plays a key role in determining the tenant mix of the retail mall. After developing the appropriate leasing strategy, the leasing team is responsible for managing the leasing process, from identifying potential tenants for the mall and pop-up spaces to negotiating lease terms and finalizing agreements.
 
Over the internship period, the Leasing Intern will be supporting the team in day-to-day activities from tenant management, prospecting to leasing adminstration. The intern will also be tasked to lease out pop-up spaces or vacant units. By being involved in the negotiations, you will have the opportunity to pick up market knowledge. You will also gain business perspective when evaluating market rent versus occupancy costs.

Job Description

  • Optimize occupancy and rental income for the mall
  • Assist the team in managing leasing activities including inquiries, viewings, negotiations, renewals, and paperwork.
  • Assist in liaising with internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to tenant relationship management and leasing
  • Support in lease documentation and paperwork, filing and archiving of documents 
  • Evaluation of market rents vs occupancy cost for sustenance of business for the mall
  • Preparation of ETF in SAP system
  • Preparation of Community Leasing Meeting presentation deck
  • Prepare budgets and monthly financial reports, sales analysis of tenants' performance
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned 

Key Qualification

  • Interest in real estate or retail industry
  • Working knowledge in excel, word and powerpoint
  • Proactive attitude
  • Strong drive and resilience in pursuing new leads; confident in cold-calling prospects
