About the Role

Accounting Intern

As an Accounting Intern, you will be part of a young, open and dynamic environment where you will be exposed to a broad accounting scope, learning about General Ledger accounting, Bank Accounting & Reconciliations and Fixed Assets Accounting.

In this role

During your internship within IDEXX you will be working with SAP ERP accounting system, following US GAAP in practice as well as some local GAAP for 34 different entities. You will make IDEXX adhere to VAT and INTRASTAT regulations. Together with peers in the team, auditors and the other finance departments you will make sure the general ledger is correct. This internship will provide you practical experience in the fundamentals in accounting processes and its extended requirements.

What You Will Need to Succeed

We are looking for a Business Management student with a Finance or Accounting focus, with love for numbers, good communication skills and the ability to multitask.

  • As we work in an international environment, fluency in English is a key

  • Being assertive, taking initiative and being able to work independently

  • Being organized and good with Excel

  • You possess a professional attitude, have attention to detail and eager to learn

Some practical aspects

  • You need to be enrolled as a student towards the attaining of a degree to be eligible for this internship and to secure university approval to start the assignment. If you are not an European national, you will also need to provide an approved Nuffic agreement

  • You are available to start in Mid-August or the start of September and can work with us for 5-6 months full-time (40 hours a week)

  • Our office is located in Hoofddorp, next to the train station (25 minutes from Amsterdam by train). This is a hybrid position that will enable you to both work from home and in the office in alignment with your manager.
