Are you eager to explore the exciting intersection of technology, policy, and legislation within the security industry? We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Government Relations Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in regulatory processes, governmental compliance, and public policy engagement, providing a foundational understanding for your career. If you're passionate about learning and growing in government relations, public policy, or compliance, this role is designed for you.
This is a paid internship (onsite in our Arlington VA office) with an hourly rate of $18/hr (non-negotiable). There is also the possibility to work remotely one day per week.
What You'll Do Here?
As a Government Relations Intern, you will actively contribute to our critical operations and gain foundational experience:
Assist with managing the Government inbox, learning to ensure timely, accurate, and organized responses.
Support the processing and tracking of government compliance requests, developing an eye for precision and efficiency.
Help with the administration and coordination of the Axis Grant Program. Begin to develop a working knowledge of NDAA, TAA, and Buy America requirements and their business implications.
Conduct competitive research on domestic manufacturing and Buy America positioning across the security industry.
Analyze data from the Made in America Office Waiver database to understand competitor approaches to BABA waivers.
Provide support for initiatives related to public-private partnerships and government engagement strategies.
What/who we are looking for?
Proactive, organized, and analytical in thought process.
Genuine interest in government compliance, public policy, or government relations.
Sound judgment and a keen intellectual curiosity.
Ability to manage tasks and learn new processes effectively within a professional environment.
Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and demonstrate initiative.
We'd Love to See That You Have/Are:
Bachelor’s degree or related field (in progress)
0-1 years of marketing/social media/ campaigning internship experience (valued but not required)
