Job Description:

The Role:
SiFive Software compiler technology is the backbone of the software stack that enables SiFive high-performance Linux-capable cores and SiFive Intelligence processors. The compiler team's mission is to deliver cutting-edge performance in SiFive products while working with the community to advance RISC-V architecture and ISA extensions. SiFive is an active participant in the RISC-V ecosystem that opens a vast opportunity to develop the next generation of computer architecture and compiler technology. SiFive engineers are active members and maintainers in many open-source projects, and our mission is to work with and drive the RSIC-V ecosystem.

We are seeking a software toolchain team member with proven experience in GNU Binutils, including assembler, linker, and debugger tools. The candidate should demonstrate a track record in cross-team collaboration and delivering high-quality toolchain products.

Responsibilities:

• Work with SiFive’s software compiler team to add new RISC-V extensions for all the SiFive processor families.

• Work with SiFive’s benchmarking teams to analyze performance results and suggest new compiler optimizations.

• Work with SiFive’s compiler and system software teams to integrate GNU toolchain recipes in the Yocto/OE-based Linux distribution system.

Requirements:

• B.Sc., or M.Sc. in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Has knowledge of open-source ISA.

• Familiar with ELF file format for analyzing static and dynamic linking issues, like relocation, relaxation, and linker script issues.

• Familiar with the Yocto/Open embedded to deal with toolchain-related recipes.

• Strong C/C++ programming skills.
