The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a CAD Intern to join our Jacksonville office. 

In this role, you will support our Geospatial Services (GIS) team by assisting with CAD drafting, map production, and spatial data integration. This internship is ideal for students with AutoCAD experience who are interested in expanding their exposure to GIS applications and working with spatial data in a professional environment.

You will gain hands-on experience supporting real-world projects while collaborating with GIS analysts, engineers, and technical staff.

What You’ll Do:

As a CAD Intern, you will assist in preparing technical drawings and supporting the integration of CAD and GIS data. You will work closely with GIS professionals to help produce accurate, high-quality deliverables that support project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and editing technical drawings and map layouts using AutoCAD. 
• Support the development of CAD deliverables aligned with GIS datasets and project specifications. 
• Organize and maintain CAD files and drawing sets in accordance with established standards. 
• Collaborate with GIS staff to support the integration of CAD and spatial data. 
• Assist in creating presentation graphics and map visualizations for internal and client use. 
• Incorporate GPS or survey data into CAD drawings as needed. 
• Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across drawings and files. 
• Provide general technical support to GIS and CAD teams across departments. 

What You’ll Bring:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field. 
• Proficiency in AutoCAD. 
• Interest or basic familiarity with GIS and spatial data concepts (ArcGIS Pro experience is a plus). 
• Strong attention to detail and drafting accuracy. 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and revisions. 
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Internship Details:

• Available for summer, fall, and spring semesters. 
• Part-time, hourly paid internship.
