Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Intern is responsible for providing support to the recruiters with the administration of recruiting activities including, but not limited to sourcing, pre-screening, scheduling interviews, attending recruiting events, talent pipeline development, candidate selection process, and on-boarding process for Westgate Resorts. The Intern will interact directly with the Recruiters, Human Resources, Compensation and Hiring Managers to contribute to the overall success of Westgate Resorts recruiting and preboarding process, with a high level of professionalism.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Assist with reviewing resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates for open positions.
  • Conduct initial phone screens for hourly candidates to assess basic qualifications, availability, and alignment with role expectations.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate communication between candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers.
  • Support sourcing efforts across multiple channels including job boards such as Indeed and LinkedIn, as well as other creative sourcing strategies.
  • Assist in identifying new and innovative talent pipelines to support high-volume hiring needs.
  • Utilize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), including SmartRecruiters, to manage candidate activity, update statuses, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Disposition candidates in a timely and compliant manner within the ATS.
  • Partner with recruiters to support hiring efforts across Resort Operations, Food & Beverage, and Support Center roles.
  • Assist with administrative recruiting tasks, including data entry, reporting support, and document management.
  • Support Talent Acquisition leadership on special projects and initiatives, including employer branding, process improvements, and recruiting events.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling candidate and company information.
  • Assist Preboarding team with new hires processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

Education & Experience

  • Previous internship, part-time work, or campus involvement in HR, recruiting, hospitality, or customer service is preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is a plus.
  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an accredited bachelor’s program—or a recent graduate (within 1 year)—in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must be in good academic standing.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Demonstrates initiative, curiosity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills with attention to detail and quality.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work with Team Members.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Professionalism, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of recruiting processes or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Comfortable using technology and learning new systems, including ATS platforms and Microsoft Office tools.

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires flexibility in work location based on business needs. The Talent Acquisition Intern may be based at the Ocoee Corporate Office or work from one of our Orlando or Kissimmee resort locations. Occasional travel between locations may be required to support hiring activities and on-site recruiting efforts.
