Duke Divinity is looking for an Intern to join the Faith & Leadership team for a 10-week internship. You will work 20 hours per week as part of the team that plans and creates content and builds the audience for Faith & Leadership, the award-winning online magazine of Leadership Education at Duke Divinity.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to work 20 hours per week for 10 weeks
  • Strong interest in writing, editing, and digital media
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively as part of a team

You will:

 

  • Work with award-winning editors
  • Write for the web
  • Edit content for the website
  • Conduct and write up interviews for publication
  • Participate in all stages of the editorial process, from developing story ideas to final publication

 

Depending on your skills and interests, opportunities may also be available for:

 

  • Taking photographs
  • Shooting and/or editing video
  • Writing a personal essay for publication
  • Meeting with and learning from local and national journalists and thought leaders
  • Creating social media content

The Faith & Leadership five-member team creates and posts six pieces of editorial content every two weeks, including feature articles, interviews, essays, and sermons. This content is shared through a biweekly email newsletter and across social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter. While the publication primarily features Christian content, it also produces non-faith-related articles.

 

Faith & Leadership is the online magazine of Leadership Education at Duke Divinity, which designs educational services, develops intellectual resources, offers grants, and facilitates networks of Christian institutions. Leadership Education’s mission is to create lasting change by strengthening the ecology of Christian institutions that enable U.S. congregations and pastors to flourish. The publication’s audience includes leaders in denominations, seminaries, church-related colleges, large membership congregations, and Christian nonprofit organizations.
