About the Role

The University of Helsinki Trainee Programme for International Master Students is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.

 

We are now looking for a TRAINEE for the Rule of Law Centre.

 

The trainee’s tasks include:

  • assisting in the planning, practical organisation and reporting of Rule of Law Clinics, meetings and events
  • drafting meeting minutes, memos, background notes and other project documentation
  • collecting, compiling and analysing information relevant to projects, partner countries and rule of law development
  • supporting communication and visibility related to the Centre’s work, such as website or event materials and other communication outputs
  • assisting with other administrative and office tasks as needed

 

We expect:

  • good written and oral communication skills in English
  • strong drafting, synthesis and analytical skills
  • good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • ability to take initiative and work independently
  • ability to manage several tasks at once and meet deadlines
  • good interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
  • interest in rule of law, human rights, democracy and development cooperation

We appreciate:

  • studies in law or a relevant field in the social sciences, such as political science, international relations, development studies, public policy or a related discipline
  • experience in research assistance, reporting, event coordination, project administration or communication
  • knowledge of additional languages

The duration of the traineeship is from 1 September to 31 December 2026 (four months) of part-time (55%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €825 per month for a part-time (55%) trainee.
