Beyond research skills, we also value willingness to take on practical duties related to organizing events, and appreciate candidates who bring a positive attitude, team spirit, and strong organizational skills. Skills in communications, photo and video editing, or publication layout design are considered an asset. An excellent command of English is required; further language skills are a plus.
Why work for us?
We offer our trainees an international, multidisciplinary work environment and engaging assignments in social sciences and humanities research. Trainees receive active guidance and mentorship throughout their traineeship, ensuring they get the most out of their time at the Collegium. We highly value the skills and expertise trainees bring from their own disciplines and aim to match each trainee with projects that align with their interests. At the same time, the role offers opportunities to apply their knowledge across the full disciplinary range represented at the Collegium. Some collaborations continue beyond the trainee term. The traineeship may be particularly beneficial for those considering a career in academia.
This traineeship is a part of the international trainee program at the University of Helsinki. In addition to the support Collegium offers to the trainee, they will be invited into orientation sessions and other events within the trainee program.
