About the Job:
The Therapist Intern works closely with Social Services Department staff and assists in providing clinical services to clients and their families as required by the intern’s educational requirementsRoles and Responsibilities:
· Assists clinicians in conducting various group therapies, including but not limited to trauma process groups, break work sessions, equine therapy and 12-step group.
· Advanced students may have the opportunity to work with clients doing psychosocial assessments, crisis interventions and create/run their own groups.
· Identifies problems and creates interventions to facilitate client’s transition back into the community.
· Conducts family therapy sessions.
· Maintains routine contact with referral sources and providers.
· Coordinates discharge and aftercare planning.
Working towards a Master’s Degree in Social Work or related counseling field from an accredited Master’s program required.
