The Opportunity
Your Impact Starts on the Road Ahead
Join WSP’s Pavement Engineering team and contribute to the planning, assessment, and rehabilitation of roads and highways across Ontario. This student opportunity is designed for future civil engineers who want hands‑on exposure to real infrastructure projects while building technical and professional skills in a collaborative consulting environment.
You will support pavement design and rehabilitation services that help communities move safely and sustainably—turning data into practical engineering solutions that shape the transportation networks Canadians rely on every day.

Your Impact
  • Contribute to pavement engineering services supporting road and highway rehabilitation projects across Ontario
  • Analyze pavement condition, traffic, and historical performance data to support design decisions
  • Assist with planning and participating in site visits, including pavement condition surveys and geotechnical investigations
  • Support the preparation of pavement design reports aligned with jurisdictional standards and specifications
  • Assist with technical documentation and cost estimates under engineer supervision
  • Support project managers with progress reporting and coordination activities
  • Research emerging materials, technologies, and best practices in pavement and surfacing strategies
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, technologists, and fellow students to deliver project outcomes
  • Learn through mentorship and hands‑on experience in a professional consulting environment

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Currently enrolled in a Civil, Geotechnical, Transportation Engineering, or related university program
  • Strong interest in pavement engineering and transportation infrastructure
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with PDF‑XChange
  • Ability to interpret technical data and contribute to clear, well‑structured reports
  • Organized, curious, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced project environment
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to travel short‑term within Canada for site visits

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $24.00 – $32.25 per hour
MB & ON: $22.50 – $30.25 per hour
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $21.50 – $30.25 per hour
