Job Description

Performs import and export activities for Mexican operation linking a vast number of suppliers, manufacturing plants and distribution center in Mexico. Close relationship and constant communication with freight forwarders and customs agents in Mexico to provide shipping documents, material technical information and legal documentation. Will perform purchase order follow up and ESD/ETA update to planning team in Mexico. Import and export activities will require fluent and dominant use of English as China, Vietnam, Japan, Malasia and LATAM countries are involved in our operations. 

  • Deliver purchase order status to supply chain team based on estimated shipping dates and delivery dates in our RDC. 
  • Constant communication with freight forwarders to ensure bookings, vessel loading times and vessel arrivals are on time and with all shipping documentation properly handed. 
  • Ensures correct information is received and shared between suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents and warehouse. 
  • Runs accounts payable and expense reports of our main suppliers and keeps track of invoice payments to ensure our accounts are always up to date. 
  • Review and edit/provide feedback on shipping document information to ensure our import/export documents are always aligned to our company’s policies as well as national regulations. 
  • Research on constant government reforms or updates to customs law or regulatory compliance policies for Mexico and other countries in LATAM. 
  • Works with multiple teams to ensure that the material being operated complies with Free Trade Agreements requirements and triggers the process to issue certificates or letters of compliance to our customers. 

Qualifications 

  • Undergraduate or graduate in engineering or international trade/logistics is preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and time management skills. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. 
  • Ready to learn and adapt to a fast paced and rapidly changing environment. 
  • Advanced speaking and writing English skills. 
  • Microsoft suite proficiency is a must. Power Bi and ERP familiarity is preferred.
