JOB SUMMARY

KIOTI Tractor, a leader in the design and manufacture of compact tractors, utility vehicles, turf care, and compact construction equipment, is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our team onsite at our location in Milton, ON.

The Accounting Intern will support the Accounting function in day-to-day financial operations, with a focus on inventory accounting, accounts payable (AP), and basic tax compliance. This role provides hands-on experience across multiple accounting functions and offers exposure to real-world financial processes in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and able to adapt quickly in a dynamic team environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB

Inventory Accounting Support:
 o Assist in tracking and reconciling inventory transactions
 o Support physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies
 o Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP systems
 o Assist with inventory valuation and cost analysis

Accounts Payable (AP):
 o Process vendor invoices and verify supporting documentation
 o Perform 3-way matching (PO, invoice, receipt)
 o Assist with vendor payments and maintain AP aging reports
 o Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies

Tax & Compliance:
 o Assist with preparation of indirect tax filings (GST/HST)
 o Support organization of tax documentation and records
 o Ensure compliance with internal policies and Canadian regulations
 o Assist with audit preparation and supporting schedules

General Accounting Support:
 o Assist with journal entries and account reconciliations
 o Support month-end closing activities
 o Maintain organized financial records and documentation
 o Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed

EDUCATIONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
 • Basic understanding of accounting principles (IFRS or ASPE preferred)
 • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data organization)
 • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
 • Good written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

 

* Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship or co-op experience in accounting or finance
 • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)

• Basic understanding of Canadian tax (GST/HST)
 • Interest in manufacturing or inventory-based accounting
