About the Role

LightFeather is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to support our team with creative visual design work across digital, presentation, and brand materials. This opportunity is ideal for a student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual design, UI/UX design, human-computer interaction, digital design, or a related field, and eager to gain real-world experience in a professional, collaborative environment.

The Graphic Design Intern will work alongside leadership and cross-functional teams to help create engaging visuals that support internal initiatives, client-facing materials, and marketing efforts. This is a hands-on opportunity to build your portfolio while contributing to meaningful projects.

Location: On-site in Arlington, VA
Employment Type: Part-time during the school year; Full-time during Winter and Summer break

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing presentations, social graphics, one-pagers, internal communications, and marketing materials.
  • Support the development of branded templates and reusable design assets.
  • Help create visual content that communicates ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Revise designs based on feedback and apply updates with attention to detail.
  • Organize design files and maintain consistency across visual materials.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and creative concept development.
  • Support seasonal campaigns, recruiting materials, and other internal design needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related discipline.
  • Strong portfolio or sample work demonstrating design skills, creativity, and visual communication.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, as well as Figma and other design tools.
  • Understanding of basic design principles including typography, layout, and color.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a professional setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work part-time during the academic year and full-time during Winter and Summer internship periods.

Nice-to-Have

  • Coursework or experience in branding, digital media, or marketing design.
  • Experience designing for student organizations, freelance clients, or campus events.
  • Interest in human-centered design, storytelling, or mission-driven work.
