In this role, you will:
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Generate job plans and support electrical projects on mobile mining equipment and improvement initiatives across the mine maintenance department
  • Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation failures and complete bad actor analysis
  • Utilize maintenance and troubleshooting skills with electrical systems and equipment, such as AC/DC drives, PLC-5, VFD or logic circuits
  • Assist with the design of small-scale projects which can include new equipment installations and sizing
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to organize, schedule, manage costs, analyze data, and monitor progress of projects
  • Support preventative maintenance plan documentation and updates, and electrical distribution system reliability engineering
  • Update site line drawings using AutoCAD
  • Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business


Requirements:
  • Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License or extra-provincial equivalent, without learner's restrictions
  • Able to operate vehicles in various weather conditions and terrain
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment, with a willingness to work outdoors
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite® of applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Experience with Power Systems, including transformers, substations, and distribution equipment is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is an asset
  • Previous work experience in a technical or engineering environment is an asset
  • Experience with form design, macros, and data analysis is an asset

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
