Job Summary (Basic Functions): We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Market Development Intern to join our corporate Market Development team in Atlanta, GA, and support market expansion and growth initiatives. In this role, the intern will contribute to field marketing initiatives, identify potential new market and customer opportunities, and support the development of strategic growth pipelines. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Sales, and Strategy—to gather and analyze market data, develop insights on customer and competitor trends, and assist in executing high-impact marketing and business development activities. This position will report to the Market Development Team Leader and is based in the corporate office in the Buckhead area. Qualified candidates must live in the Atlanta, GA area during the Internship.
The goal of this program is to prepare future candidates for LG Chem.
What You’ll Be Doing
Essential Functions (Principal assignments include but are not limited to):
- New Customer & Market Development: Consolidate and analyze monthly data on new customers, including demand patterns, applications, and business types, to support market expansion initiatives.
- Global Market Intelligence (GMI): Conduct market research and gather data to support strategic market development. Maintain and update GMI data with current petrochemical market trends, prepare weekly and monthly reports, and coordinate insights with HQ to ensure global alignment.
- Longtail (Small-Medium Customer) Management: Identify and validate potential customers using external data platforms. Promote target applications and products, manage marketing leads through tools such as Chemon and Sales Navigator, and summarize weekly longtail activity reports.
- Corporate Events & Customer Engagement: Support the planning and execution of internal and external events, including exhibitions and leadership-level meetings to enhance brand presence and customer relationships.
- Communication & Regional Coordination: Assist with updating and sharing market intelligence materials across communication channels between HQ (Korea) and the Americas region.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: What We’re Looking For
Education: Students must be currently enrolled in their Junior or Senior year pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Requirements:
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Sales Navigator (Linkedin), or data management tools, a plus.
- Proficiency in MS products (Excel, PowerPoint) or similar data analysis tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in market intelligence or market analysis
- Prior experience in data management or customer relationship management is preferred.
Preferred Qualification/What We’d Like to See:
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation.
- Ability to collaborate across business functions and work as part of a team.
- Bilingual in English/Korean required.
