About the Role

Job Description Summary:

Role Overview:

The QA Intern will be a shared resource between the Process Quality Assurance (PQA) and Laboratory teams.

The intern will report directly to the Laboratory Manager, while working closely with PQA, Laboratory and Operations teams to support quality assurance, process improvement, and laboratory operations in a beverage concentrate manufacturing environment.

This role provides hands-on exposure to GMP, GLP, process validation, laboratory testing and digital quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Support

Laboratory Testing & Sampling

  • Assist in sampling of ingredients, packaging materials, intermediates and finished products.
  • Support physical-chemical, microbiological, and basic sensory testing under supervision.

Quality Data & Documentation

  • Assist in recording, compiling, and reviewing laboratory test results.
  • Support quality data entry and basic transactions in SAP.

GLP & GMP Compliance

  • Support adherence to Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory documentation, test records and procedures.

Equipment & Inventory Support

  • Assist in calibration checks of laboratory equipment.
  • Support management of laboratory reagents, chemicals, glassware inventories, and SDS records.
  • Assist with laboratory consumables tracking and purchasing support.

Laboratory Improvement Activities

  • Support method verification, repeatability checks, and basic out-of-specification or out-of-trend data reviews.
  • Participate in lab-related continuous improvement and digital initiatives.

Process Quality Assurance (PQA)

Process Validation Support

Support process validation activities, including conducting the validation tests, documenting the validation protocols and reports in accordance with quality standards.

Support GMP Audits & Compliance

  • Participate in routine GMP audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Assist in preparing audit checklist and reports.
  • Support follow-up of audit findings and corrective actions.

Ad-Hoc Investigations Support

  • Assist in lab-scale preparation and sampling activities as part of ad-hoc investigations.
  • Assist in identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions for quality-related issues.

Support Other PQA Team Member Projects

  • Assist PQA team members in various packaging and process-related projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and ensure quality standards are met.

Quality and Food Safety Culture

  • Contribute to promoting a quality safety culture within the organization.
  • Participate in quality training sessions and help communicate quality standards and practices to employees.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma/Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or related disciplines
  • Possess a good attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (i.e. Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Basic understanding of GMP and GLP principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Positive attitude, curiosity, and passion for quality and safety excellence.
