About the Role

Description

  

Job Description: Works with the Engineering team and Operations departments to improve efficiency and quality as well as engineering components with some 3D part creation. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of boat components and systems using CAD software (Solidworks).
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of engineering designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, design, prototyping, product integration, and lamination.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives within production and assembly operations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues on the production floor or in prototyping.
  • Navigate and work within complex CAD assemblies.
  • Develop jigs and fixtures 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success in this Position:

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Must be available for 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Some knowledge of CAD applications is desirable (AutoCAD, Rhino, VCarve, NX).
  • Experience with SolidWorks Enterprise PDM.
  • Experience with 3D Printing 
  • Familiarity with composites, fiberglass, or marine systems
  • Manufacturing experience desired.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
