Practising Law Institute (“PLI”) is seeking a Digital Archive Intern to join its dedicated Manhattan-based team for the summer. PLI’s array of world-class legal education programs and services continues to grow, as does PLI’s client base of prestigious law firms and Fortune 500 companies. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM SUMMARY

The internship program will begin on Monday, June 8th and end on Monday, August 24th in our midtown Manhattan office. This is a paid internship with a salary of $18 per hour.

The Digital Archive Intern will contribute to the PLI PLUS Digital Archive Project by assisting in our efforts to expand the electronic availability of our published back catalog.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expand the archival collection of PLI PLUS
  • Upload archival publications to our legal research database PLI PLUS, utilizing Salesforce and proprietary software
  • Conduct QA and testing to ensure accuracy of content uploaded
  • Present findings and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified interns fall under one of the following categories: 
    • Pursuing a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science
    • 2026 graduate from a Master’s program in Library and Information Science
  • Must be available to participate in the program, beginning June 8th through August 24th
  • Must have the ability to work Monday – Thursday from 9am – 5pm (with a one-hour unpaid lunch break) and Fridays from 9 am – 12:30 pm (31.50 hours per week).
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Some intern assignments will require familiarity with department specific software.
  • Curiosity about AI tools and willingness to experiment with new technologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have the ability to provide recommendation letters from school and/or previous employer.
  • No prior professional experience required; this program is designed for entry-level candidates.
