About The Company
In 2011, Dollar Shave Club didn’t just shake up the shaving aisle—we reinvented it. A viral video put us on the map, and our direct-to-consumer model challenged an entire industry by making great razors accessible, affordable, and actually fun to buy.  Since then, we’ve grown far beyond blades. From grooming to personal care, we’ve built a lineup of quality essentials designed to make life easier (and smoother), whether you find us online or in stores near you. Today, DSC is expanding into new categories and new markets, but our DNA hasn’t changed. We’re still here to cut the BS, deliver real value, and bring a little humor to the everyday routine. ROLE SUMMARY:

We’re looking for a driven and curious HR Intern to join our People Team for a hands-on, project-based summer experience. This is not a “shadow and observe” internship - you’ll directly support high-impact People programs that touch the full employee experience.

Over the course of two months, you’ll gain exposure to core HR functions including employee engagement, total rewards, performance management, and people systems. By the end of the internship, you’ll have contributed to company-wide initiatives and developed a strong understanding of how HR programs are designed and executed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You’ll work closely with the HR team to support and operationalize key People initiatives, including:

Employee Engagement (Survey Execution)

  • Support planning and rollout of the Q12 Employee Engagement Survey using the Gallup platform
  • Assist with communications, survey setup, and participation tracking
  • Help organize and summarize survey results and insights

Total Rewards (Benefits Perception Survey)

  • Support execution of a Total Rewards survey focused on employee perception and value of company benefits
  • Assist with survey logistics, data collection, and initial analysis
  • Help identify themes and opportunities to improve benefits communication and offerings

HR Technology

  • Participate in HRMS demo sessions to evaluate potential system solutions
  • Support analysis and comparison of platforms, with a focus on identifying opportunities to consolidate systems
  • Assess capabilities, especially AI-driven features, that could automate HR tasks and improve team efficiency
  • Help summarize findings and provide recommendations to support decision-making
  • Help document processes and identify areas for efficiency

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergrad at a University majoring in HR, Business, or related field
  • Able to commit to the full duration of the summer internship program
  • Strong project management skills and ability to stay organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Curious and proactive; comfortable asking questions and digging into details
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused

WHAT YOU’LL TAKE WITH YOU:

  • Real-world exposure across multiple HR disciplines
  • Focused exposure to various People programs, systems, and strategic projects
  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced HR professionals
  • Opportunity to build and present a meaningful body of work

POSITION TYPE:
This is an hourly position, working 24 hours per week (Tuesday - Thursday).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This internship is in-office, working out of our HQ in Durham, North Carolina 3x a week.

PAY:
$20/hr

APPLICATION PROCESS:
All applications must be submitted via our Applicant Tracking System, Greenhouse, in order to be considered. Once you submit your application, the recruiting team will review your submission and will reach out if your skill sets and/or qualifications match our needs. If selected, you’ll be invited to an initial phone screening interview with a recruiter before meeting with various members of the team. Candidates will be notified if they are not selected for the position. The position will remain open and we'll be accepting applications until the role is filled.
