Job Description

The Interior Architectural Designer Intern supports the Development Department by assisting with design documentation, project coordination, and FF&E-related activities to create outstanding timeshare and resorts’ amenities.

The role provides functional support across design, project management, and FF&E disciplines while contributing to the execution of development projects. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Design & Architecture and in collaboration with designers, project managers, and FF&E leadership, the Development Intern assists with the preparation of drawings, presentations, data entry, and project documentation. The position is structured to provide practical exposure to multiple phases of the development process while supporting departmental deliverables and timelines.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Assists Designers and Senior Designers with preparation and execution of design vision of senior leadership in an effective and timely manner.
  • Supports studio and project teams by completing assigned tasks and deliverables in accordance with established project schedules and deadlines.
  • Works with team to understand financial stewardship and business development as it pertains to design.
  • Assists with the preparation of schematic drawings, finish palettes, presentation materials, and related documentation to support design intent.
  • Participates in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and production.
  • Attends and participates in drawing and project reviews with leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Assists with coordination of drawings and documentation across multi-disciplinary consultants.
  • Provides administrative and project support related to FF&E and project management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

What You Will Bring:

Education & Experience

  • Previous internship, part-time work, or campus involvement in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is a plus.
  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an accredited bachelor’s program—or a recent graduate (within 1 year)— or Master's Program student in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must be in good academic standing.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary design, development, architecture, interior design, or project management environments through coursework, internships, or academic projects.
  • Exposure to hospitality, commercial, or residential design concepts through academic study or applied learning.
  • Experience managing multiple assignments or design tasks.
  • Experience reviewing or assisting with design documentation, presentations, or project deliverables.
  • 1 – 3 years of experience working with the following:
    • BIM/Revit
    • AutoCAD
    • 3D/Visualization
    • MS Projects and/or Gantt Chart
    • Adobe software including but not limited to: Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator

Skills/Knowledge

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline‑driven environment
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Foundational knowledge of industry trends in hospitality design including furniture and finishes.
  • Ability to communicate design concepts through sketches, drawings, or visual presentations
  • Foundational knowledge of design principles, color theory, and visual composition
  • Working knowledge of building and health codes and compliance issues. 
  • General knowledge in all phases of construction documentation
  • General knowledge in writing FF&E specifications
  • General knowledge in Project Management principles
  • General knowledge in coordinating drawings across multi-disciplinary consultants
  • General knowledge in construction

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires flexibility in work location based on business needs. The Intern may be based at the Orlando Windhover Corporate Office or work from one of our Orlando or Kissimmee resort locations and Ocoee Corporate Office.
